“Southeast Takeaways: Midtown Maintains Status as Atlanta Law Firms’ Top Neighborhood,” Daily Report

In an article that published on December 14, 2021 in the Daily Report, founding partner Michael Caplan discusses why he and fellow co-founder James Cobb decided to locate their office in Midtown when the firm opened in 2014. The article features Midtown Atlanta as the remaining “it” neighborhood for local law firms.

“We thought that it was really the hub of commercial litigation, business litigation work,” explains Caplan. “Being in Midtown gave us the opportunity to be exposed to other lawyers and professionals within the area. It’s also a great place to go to lunch and get coffee and visit with friends and colleagues. That’s why we made the decision.”

Caplan further shared with the editor that while many firms are downsizing due to remote work because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Caplan Cobb recently renewed its lease at The Four Seasons and is expanding its office space from 5,000 square feet to 8,000 square feet. This project is expected to be completed as early as February 2022.

Additionally, Caplan mentioned that Midtown is attractive due to its technology sector, including the proximity of Georgia Tech, where he has had client meetings at its startup incubator, the Advanced Development Center, its location is also near the courthouses, the State Bar of Georgia’s downtown Atlanta office and the restaurants in Buckhead.
